Friday Frills! & Feelin' Good!

Happy June, y'all! Wow. Summer is here :) This year is flying by. With May being so incredibly busy, I'm hoping to ease into summer at a steady pace. With that said, steady doesn't necessarily mean lazy or boring. (I mean, really- with zombie face-eating crazies out there and a fire-spitting hair dryer this week, when is life ever really boring?)  I'm whipping my behind into shape & making it a point to feel fantastic come July for our beach trip! I'm definitely not bikini ready. (sidebar: I'm 0% athletic. I hate the intimidation of the gym. I can't stand running, yet walking/jogging hasn't been cutting it. Yoga makes me uncomfortable. I just don't bend that way. And I'm that awkward white girl with no rhythm in a gym class. Usually I fall down or give people a reason to just point and laugh, regardless. And let's be honest: my idea of being outdoorsy includes a patio, a pool, and "lemonade.") The goal this month is to focus on self, focus on CONTINUING! to eat right, to live with boundaries, and to say YES to good choices. And clearly, I need to turn all those negative thoughts about working out into something positive. I'm joining a gym. And dammit, it's going to be fun. I'm going to spin if it kills me. I need to keep in mind that we have a pretty full social calendar most weekends in June, so I'll be seeing our families and our friends. We don't have to see them every week. I don't have to sneak in a dinner or drink with friends every week (anyone else guilty?!). But ladies-call me if you want to gym it up with me.

Dipping into summer means a little of all this:

perfection!

Savannah Style Bachelorette

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! I headed down south for a little celebration of my dear friend, Rosanna. She's getting married in a couple of months and wanted to visit Savannah, so this weekend made for the perfect long weekend before the summer heat began!

Seersucker and Pearls were requested for the bridesmaids.

There was definitely a little white dress with a wide brimmed black hat for the bride-to-be.

Dinner at The Old Pink House was DIVINE.

& there were signiture cocktails, of course!

Pictures coming later!

Birthday / Blog Break!

Sometimes a blogging break does one good. I've pretty much stepped back a little from here, not neccessarily because I wanted to, but because I've been making a better effort to unplug while I'm at home. It's been nice to connect with the husband and to put more focus on being a great wife. It's not always as easy as it looks! We got to celebrate Mother's Day & my Birthday this past weekend, which was so much fun. I've always thought of myself to be lucky to celebrate with my favorite women on Mother's Day, even though I'm not a mom myself, just a mother's day baby! My friends showered me with flowers and cards as we threw a fiesta party on Friday night. They made me feel SO special! I'm a lucky lady! Saturday Steven and I had a date day together! Since we celebrated Steven's mom last week, Sunday we went to be with my family and had our traditional Parker's BBQ (holy goodness) lunch and dirt cake birthday party. Then my actual birthday was Monday the 14th, a regular work day. Chipotle take-out and my favorite shows (Hart of Dixie and The Bachelorette!) made for the perfect night in! Here are some snapshots:

Hope y'all are having a lovely week! Hoping to be back a little more frequently.

Derby De Mayo!

Y'all. This weekend is a BIG weekend. Not only will The Derby be happening, but it's also time for a FIESTA! If that wasn't enough of a wardrobe challenge, we're also going CAMPING. You heard that right. CAMPING for the first time ever with my husband. Our Sunday School small group is trekking out to the lake. Luckily there will be s'mores, a boat, and some sunshine! This will be considered 'easy' camping, but nonetheless, we'll be snoozing in a tent in the woods. I hope everyone else is on board when I bust out my wide brimmed derby hat and my maracas! No, but, really. If I were going to a Derby Party or a Fiesta, I think I'd wear a little something like this to pay a little tribute to both! Tacos, Juleps? Yes, please.

Head here for some fun cocktail twists for the occasion!!

Any plans this weekend, y'all!?
