Cut. It. Out.

Lots of cute cut out shapes are happening in the world of summer dresses these days and I can't help but to consider the trend. I love a back cut out because it plays it safe. I'm not too sure about side cut outs or frontal ones, but I found so many cute dresses when browsing one of my favorite sites- shopstyle! Just search anything you desire and poof! TONS of options. You can even gage the price range so you can automatically rule out anything that would otherwise tempt your wallet ;) But, how cute is this one?! I think it would be adorbs with some red lipstick and red wedges for the Fourth of July!

Summer Wardrobe: The LWD

I recently scored this Little White Dress. My friend was clearing out her closet and I'm thankful to be the lucky duck who gets to shop her past wears. Normally that doesn't sound too exciting, but this particular friend has serious style! This is the perfect dress for summer and unlike my typical go-to little black dress, it doesn't show doggy hair! This dress is a thick cotton blend so it's structured but totally comfortable. Since I tend to be an accessories queen, I thought it would be fun to come up with 3 different looks. While I considered going slightly boho with one look, I couldn't help but stick to my typical style. With a few splurges and a few budget friendly pieces, you can pick and chose what works best for you. I think the shoes could all be interchanged and mixed up as well. Too fun!

Look One: I love this for Sunday brunch or work! Earrings & Necklace : Loren Hope, via Semblance. Bangle: BaubleBar. Shoes: ShoeDazzle. (Sign up with Shoe Dazzle and get $15 off, even on sale items! I scored these as well as one other pair for $45 total! Y'all know I love a good deal!)

Look two: Glam & Gold date night! Accessories: BaubleBar. Shoes: ShoeDazzle.

Look Three: My preppy nature is loving this look the most. Perfect for West Palm, but any beach will do! Panama Hat: J.Crew. Earrings & Necklace: BaubleBar. Clutch: Tory Burch. Shoes: Charlotte Olympia - I DIE!

How would you style it?!

"serve me the sky with a big slice of lemon"

After diving into Lonny yesterday, it's no wonder all I could dream about last night was was to be wrapped in sunshine with breathtaking views of every shade of blue with from the glimmering sea and open sky of Santorini. Being landlocked is NOT my thing. I'm dying to just get down to the Carolina beaches, however, I found myself waking up ready to plan out how we can make this happen...

I should probably keep on dreamin...

hired & wired

As we have stepped into June, I'm feeling like it's probably the busiest month so far this year. We are finally settled in here in Amarillo. I guess I can say that because for the first 9 months (holy cow!?) we were back and forth quite a bit. With no long trips in our foreseeable future, we've been diving into our routine and life here. It's our family's turn to come out west. My parents are visiting the last weekend of June and staying for an entire week! Granted, we have weekend trips planned during their stay (to Santa Fe and Denver), we'll be prepping our house in the meantime and I'll be working like a madwoman -- I was hired to assist with the design of Liv's mom & dad's vacation home renovation in Boulder, Colorado. We've been finalizing faucet fixtures, tile, lighting, flooring, etc etc etc. Quite new for me, but SO exciting! I'm grateful for the opportunity and eager to see how things may come together! In addition to that, I'm starting to work with another designer who owns a custom drapery and upholstery studio. Learning the behind the scenes and business end is so neccessary because I'll get a better grasp of how design works, espeicially in the realm of fabric and upholstering. Everything for Race for the Cure is about to gear up as well. And don't worry, I still have my job at JBS Linens! So if this space gets neglected, my apologies! I'm hoping I can get back into a blogging grove soon.

Speaking of Boulder, though, I'll share a little inspiration I've found. Our goal is to create the feel of a Parisian apartment. Bold, modern, and sleek, but warm and cozy.

Of course the new Lonny Mag has a few images that are right up this ally! I'm instantly drawn to the noir and blanche Georgian apartment designed by Lee Kleinhelter. I love her style. I wrote a little about Pieces before, and when we went to ATL I made a point to stop in. I was pretty much blown away and I wanted everything. That store is amazing and Lee was actually there! We chatted for a while and she offered some friendly, inspirational design advice to me. So cool!

I think the black & white will go lovely with this gorgeous flooring in the Boulder home. The floors will make a statement. Sadly, the window was missed to do herringbone hardwoods, but we've discovered a few other options that will be dramatic and, dare I say, sexy

A few other beautiful rooms with a Parisian vibe that have my mind reeling for when the time comes...

I have a feeling I'll be wanting to move right in...

Happy Monday, friends!
